The town of Gonzales, Texas holds a Come & Take It Festival each year. It commemorates the firing of the first shot of the Texas revolution on Oct. 2, 1835, which took place near Gonzales.

Some people also believe that this day originated from a of a movie of the same name in 2001. We believe this is coincidental

 Come and Take It Day is catchy name for a special day, and sure sounds like a fun day.
