History and Origin of Come and Take It Day
The town of Gonzales, Texas holds a Come & Take It Festival each year. It commemorates the firing of the first shot of the Texas Revolution on Oct. 2, 1835. It took place near Gonzales.
Some people also believe that this day originated from a 2001 movie of the same name. But based on our research, we believe this is simply a coincidence.
Come and Take It Day is catchy name for a special day, and sure sounds like a fun day.
