Candy Cane Cookies Ingredients

3/4 cup butter or margarine

3/4 cup sugar

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg, separated

1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy canes

chocolate chips

Directions How to Make Candy Cane Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.

  2. Cream butter (or margarine) and 1/4 cup sugar.

  3. Add vanilla, flour, and egg yolk, and mix together well.

  4.  Add in crushed candy canes.

  5. Form cookies into one-inch balls.

  6. Dip cookies in beaten egg white.

  7. Roll balls in 1/2 cup sugar.

  8. Place about two inches apart, on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  9. Flatten cookies slightly.

  10. Top with two or three chocolate chips and press on the cookie lightly.

  11. Bake for 15 minutes.

  12. Let cool for a couple of minutes, then remove from cookie sheet.
