- Cheeseburgers were invented in 1924 in Pasadena, CA.
- The Black Bear Casino in Minnesota holds the record for the world’s largest burger at 2,014 pounds. It had bacon and cheese on it.
- The honor for the largest hamburger you can order from a menu goes to Mallie’s Sports Bar and Grill in Southgate Michigan. Starting with 2,000 pounds of ground beef, it cooked down to a 1,774-pound burger. They put it into a 250-pound bun, and included 300 pounds of onions, pickles, and cheese. Give them a three-day notice and they will cook this big burger for you for only $7,799. (price subject to change.)
- They were first called “Cheese Hamburgers”.
- The name”Cheeseburger” was coined in Louisville, KY.
- In 1968, McDonald’s Big Mac was introduced to the market. It sold for 49 cents.
