When is Emergency Nurses Day? This holiday is observed on the second Wednesday in October
Emergency Nurses Day recognizes an important caregiver. They provide comfort and care to people who are seriously hurt or ill, and in need of urgent care. These nurses are highly trained to provide medical support to people during emergency room visits. According to the Emergency Nurse’s Association “this holiday salutes the dedication and commitment of emergency nursing professionals, who bring care, comfort, and compassion to patients.”
These nurses see it all. And, often it “ain’t good”. Yet, they return to work, knowing they make a difference to sick, injured, and sometimes dying people that enter the ER every day.
This holiday is held during Emergency Nurses Week.
We certainly hope that ER nurses everywhere enjoy their day.
How to Celebrate Emergency Nurses Day
If you know an ER nurse, let them know you appreciate what they do. Certainly, during the peak of the COVID pandemic, their sacrifices were vital to saving countless lives. And they did so at significant risk to themselves, too.

Although they did not say so, we believe the Emergency Nurse’s Association most likely created this day. They certainly sponsor it.
There is some reference to this as an “International” day. It is also celebrated in Australia and Canada.
