Or, you may discover and correspond with distant relatives on your family tree. Sometimes, you find disturbing things like a murderer or criminal among your ancestors. Either way, use Roots Day to learn about your roots. And find out more about who you are and who your ancestors were.

Here are some great ways to participate in Roots Day:

  • While you are home for the Christmas holiday, ask family members to identify members of your family tree that you were not aware of before. Then, find out more about them.
  • Were you switched at birth!? Take an ancestry test to determine your true ancestral roots.
  • Explore your roots. research your ancestors. There is a wealth of information online. And, you will likely find some fascinating things about people in your family tree.
  • Share your discoveries with other members of your family.
  •  Give an ancestry test kit as a holiday gift to family members.

  • Genealogy is fascinating. If you are a young person, then consider a career in this field.
