Our research in the early 2000s and again in the early 2020s did not find the creator or the origin of this day. Nor did we find why this date was selected. Although, it is raspberry-picking season. 

In our first study, the title of this holiday as Raspberry Cream Pie Day. Somewhere around 2015, several internet websites began calling it a national day. We did not find any documentation confirming this to be a “National” day. There are no congressional records or presidential proclamations.
