When is Go for Broke Day? This holiday is always celebrated on April 5
Are you a gambler or a risk-taker? Then, today is your day. It’s Go for Broke Day, an April 5 holiday. Today is a day to put it all on the line and take a chance. It might be money. Or, it can be a love relationship. Perhaps, it’s time to initiate a risky project or to take a new job.

Muster up the courage to take a big risk and you will enjoy today. “Going for Broke” is exciting. However, if you are risk-averse, this is not a day for you to celebrate. We will leave it up to you to decide whether the risk is worth taking.

Here are a few ideas on how to celebrate this holiday:
- Seek your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. what have you got to lose!?
- Take a chance on something you want but have been too hesitant to pull the trigger up to now.
- Accept a dare.
- Put some money on the horses.
- Go to a casino.
- Whatever it is, just go for it. You can’t grab the brass ring if you don’t reach out and try.
- Help someone else to attain their goals and objectives.
- If you are risk-averse, celebrate Deep Dish Pizza Day or Read a Road Map Day. They are also April 5 holidays.

“…..Being a History Buff, I know that during World War II, the most decorated unit in the US Army was a unit made up of Japanese Americans. …….I found “April 5-6, 1945: 442and Regimental Combat Team makes a surprise attack on Nazi mountainside positions in Italy, breaking through the Nazi Gothic Line in one day. In our first study in the early 2000s, this holiday was called All is Ours Day. In our second study in the early 2020s, some internet websites were calling it National All is Ours Day. This seems strange, as it apparently did not come from the unknown creator of the holiday. Also, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day.
