Weddings and Anniversaries

Honeymoon:

It's a time to unite and to celebrate the union. The rush and stress of wedding planning is over the jitters of the special day have past. Now it's time to begin your life together. What better way than to vacation together at some memorable place.

In pagan times, people married in June, on or near the Summer Solstice, would drink a liquor made from honey.  The full moon this month was named the "Honey Moon". Out of this came the term, Honeymoon.

In the 1500s, most people got married in June . This was because they took their yearly bath in May and still smelled pretty good by June.

However, by June they were starting to smell so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. This became today's custom of carrying a bouquet when getting married.
